Inspired by Doreen Massey the re-directory is a type of sound map that investigates the multiple, shifting identities and territories of a site. It is a booklet that explores the continual becomings of a place and the many voices that make up its identity. The re-directory contains images, stories, histories and sounds of the chosen site and it’s entanglements.
This issue began as an accompaniment to a sound art installation at Dilston Grove gallery, where participants would pick up old telephone receivers and listen to the voices of the site whilst reading about them in the re-directory.
